This unit looks like a large shipwreck, it is an unused ship of sorts. This unit works identical to Junk except it actually turns into an odd rowboat upon moving. In the Definitive edition it was given the appearance of an Asian Junker, it would retain its ability to trade that it received in the HD edition. This unit was fixed in the HD edition, making it identical to the AoE 1 Trade Boat as its trading capabilities were restored and the attack removed. It had an attack and would become invisible upon attacking an enemy, and reappearing afterwards. It resembles the Age of Empires 1 Trade Boat. This unit also never had assets produced for it. This unit was fixed and made available in the editor with the HD edition. It would become invisible if turned in certain directions. It uses the Age of Empires 1 Broad Swordsman graphics. This cut unit never had graphics produced for it. There are two unused galleys that would move up to an enemy ship and then convert it as a monk would. They act like typical predators in the game such as wolves except that they are ranged. These are Gaia units with the appearance of Archers. It is a melee unit, but upon attacking and dying its appearance changes to that of an AoE 1 Axeman. This unit has the same name as the unique unit of the Vikings, but it has a completely different appearance. It is fully functional but upon firing and dying its appearance changes that of an AoE 1 Composite Bowman. This is a cut unit that only has an idle sprite. It was replaced with the proper unit with the expansion. It had broken graphics and turned into an Age of Empires 1 Centurion upon moving or attacking. These units are hidden in the editor and be accessed with an unlock mod.īefore the Conquerors expansion, the base game had the Halberdier unit. The Conquerors expansion officially added ice, updated the appearance, and also added snow. It was used in the sixth mission of the Genghis Khan campaign.
